We got Brooke’s AFOs yesterday.
So far she doesn’t seem to mind them but we’ll see if that changes when she’s wearing them all day.
We had to go get her new shoes after her appointment because the ones she has now obviously aren’t big enough to fit the braces in. Well Little Miss wasn’t interested in shoes, she wanted a Dora umbrella, new purse, etc. So I’m trying to find shoes that will work, keep her within eyesight, get her to come over so I can try and shove her feet into shoes, not spend an arm and a leg on toddler shoes that she grows out of super fast when she announces “I poop”.
I hate those mother moments. I have no idea where’s there is a restroom and chances that will make it in time are nill.
So I just let her go in her Pull-Up.
At that point I’d already picked out one pair of tennis shoes and really wanted her to have an extra pair. So I had to decide, grab all our stuff and lug her back to the car (she couldn’t walk at this point cuz’ her shoes didn’t fit with braces), clean her up and come back to finish the purchase. Or I could just let her chill with poopy pants while I finished shopping.
Not totally proud of it but I finished shopping. I guess if she was a baby and had a poopy diaper that’s what I would have done but it seems wrong to do to a potty training toddler. She didn’t care though…I bribed her with a Dora purse if she’d help me pick our her second pair.
Have you ever had to make those judgement calls where you really don’t win no matter what you choose?
