Julia at Work, Wife, Mom…Life!! & Lisa from This Mommy Works host Working Mommy Wednesday. This week’s theme is 30 minute recipes.
One of the quickest meals I throw together is French Onion Burgers. No real measurements…just toss things together.
Brown 1 pound of ground beef, turkey or chicken. Drain excess fat.
Add 1 can of French Onion soup and heat to boiling.
Once boiling, reduce heat and let simmer until reduced.
Add flour, one teaspoon at a time until the mixture reaches your desired consistency. I like ours to be on the thicker side rather than soupy like a sloppy joe.
Add 1/2 – 1 cup mozzarella cheese and let melt.
Spoon mixture onto hamburger buns.
I make this an even faster meal by having already browned ground beef or turkey in the freezer. I throw it in the fridge to thaw the night before or in the morning before I leave for work.
What are some of your favorite quick go-to meals?
You put cheese in your french onion burgers? I’ve never….. might have to try it!
It is something I just started doing. I was thinking about french onion soup and how it has the melted cheese on top. So I threw some in and liked it. You should definitely give it a try!
Sounds yummy! I love cheese!
oh….. YUM!!!
I am loving the sound of this meal– no measuring? IT sounds like you can’t really fail! It’s now on my meal plan for next week!
Gotta love a no-recipe recipe, right!!!
